Cigeo is France’s groundbreaking deep geological disposal facility designed to safely store the most hazardous radioactive waste generated by its extensive nuclear power program. Located 500 meters underground in the stable clay formations of the Grand Est region, Cigeo will protect people and the environment for hundreds of thousands of years.
